SEEKING COURSES OUTSIDE OF NORTHGATE HS

  • Courses may be taken at accredited institutions for enrichment or advancement. This includes Diablo Valley College, Los Medanos College, Silicon Valley HS, BYU Online, etc. Check with a counselor if you have questions about accreditation. Courses may not be taken with these institutions to meet graduation requirements, and may not be added to the high school transcript if they are courses that we offer. See your counselor for further detail.
  • Courses taken for advancement (primarily world languages and math courses) must be complete before a student is scheduled into the next level course. Transcripts must be sent to the registrar. These courses will not be added to the high school transcript.
  • Some courses taken at community college may be added to the high school transcript if they are not offered at Northgate High School. This includes languages that the school does not offer (French, American Sign Language, Cantonese, etc), and if they are UC Transferable, they may provide a GPA bump for honors credit if added.  Talk with your counselor for more information.
