Northgate High School received the outstanding news on May 1st that the Chief Justice Patricia Guerrero announced the twenty five schools in the state to receive recognition with a California State Award for Civic Learning - and Northgate made the list! Since 2013, the Civic Learning Awards program has recognized achievements in K-12 public schools across the state. The award is co-sponsored by Chief Justice Patricia Guerrero and the State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond.

Awards will be received in September.

Our Northgate Drama Club leadership team: Aleah Clark (President), Melina Escobar (Vice President), Elaina Rosen (Secretary), Aubrey McSweeney (Treasurer), and Oktavia Kaciak (Yearbook) have worked incredibly hard to organize this exciting event.
This festival features student films from across the district, representing all grade levels and a wide range of styles and voices. The program runs approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes and showcases the creativity and talent of MDUSD student filmmakers.

The INTRADISTRICT TRANSFER WINDOW opens from Friday, October 10th to November 10th, 2025. The Intradistrict Transfer Application will be available for all schools, grades 1-12, and for Sequoia and Monte Gardens elementary schools’ Kindergarten. Intradistrict transfer application links will be available on the District website starting October 10th. High school selection notifications for the Unassigned Area (formerly the Clayton Valley High School attendance area) were also sent to current 7th- and 8th-grade students on Friday, October 3.
